I'm trying to add an oil filter to an 8BA. I have all the parts I need, or so I thought, but my oil pan has no port for the oil filter return line. I'd rather not have to drop the whole engine pan so.... Has anybody ran a return to the fuel pump stand bolt using a banjo bolt on an 8BA? Would this one work? https://thirdgenauto.com/product/1935-41-ford-nos-special-oil-filter-return-line-hollow-banjo-bolt/ or I guess I could just tap and thread a hole into the fuel pump stand itself as well?

You could also use an Engine Oil Dipstick Tube Boss with oil return hole P.N. 59A-6751. They are currently available and in stock at C&G.

You apparently have an earlier oil pan, as I believe that the 8BA should have the dipstick flange mount to accommodate the oil return line. If it were me, I'd take the extra effort to install that dipstick flange, or better yet, install a pan that already has the correct inlet. The banjo bolt for the oil return does require the banjo to go with it, whether to the fuel pump stand or to the improved location to the distributor mount, which came about midyear 1940. Either setup including the flex hoses, may be pricey if you can find them.
