have a question apparently the 1 was changed to I and the 6 and 9 were the same character in 38 + per the Van Pelt site reference from KR wilson. I always thought the EARLIER cars had the I and 6/9 looking like a lower case b. I have a 36 transmission right now with the I and the lower case b - 9. see the below picture - these numbers obviously have not been changed or restamped. SO : " I " and lower case " b " - pre or post 38 ???? appreciate any insight Chris

The two lines of numbers in your post are straight out of a K.R.Wilson catalog and given the date of the catalog, the changes in the one, six, and nine were all made prior to the '32 model year.

The new numbers were changed during the Model A era in February 1931. The correct 1, 6 and 9 stamps are available from a company called "Restostamps.
