Yes this stop light switch has bushings. The car has low mileage and it didn’t appear that the switch had been previously removed.

For an original look for a brass bushing on the front and rear of the switch where the rod enters and leaves the body

Thank you for the help. The switches currently on eBay appear to be lower quality, so I carefully disassembled my original stoplight switch and cleaned the contacts. It was fairly easy to test while removed from the car- by bending one of the contact plates slightly was able to get it working again.

I would try taking it apart and clean the contacts inside, theh use a ohm meter to test it before reinstalling it maybe electric motive cleaner, might clean the contacts with out taking apart, new parts are not made like the original parts my 2 cents 37Rgtopman,Maine

The stoplight switch doesn't work on my 1934 Ford when I depress the brake pedal. The tail lights do work when I jump the terminals on the switch. The switch looks pretty simple- is it repairable or should I be looking for a replacement? Thank you. Because of the location, I am planning to take the car to a friend who has a lift to service the stoplight switch.
