Can anyone tell me what size of fender webbing is used on the rear fender, 3/16 or 1/4 inch, also where to buy good quality webbing.

This is the source that I would use for the welting. https://thirdgenauto.com/product/1930s-40s-50s-new-25-foot-roll-of-fender-welting-2/

We buy the webbing from C&G (800) 266-0470. They show 25 colors on page 205/6. 25 foot rolls about $30. We attach cloth strips to the "web" of the welting that hang down and inside of the fender, This allow pulling the welt into place. We staple the strips to the welt with staples that are pulled off when the job is done. If the fenders are on the car, be cautious when loosening the fender bolts. They are usually rusted, and an overnight shot of WD40 or similar solvent will help.
