The inline electric fuel pump on my 46 is labeled, "Automotive Electric Fuel Pump" UL approved I am unable to identify the manufacturer. Tried Google - everything but a company called Automotive Electric that manufactures auto parts. Can anyone help?

Most old fuel pumps, mechanical or electric, are not "fuel proof", and should be replaced. Many were the diaphragm type, now obsolete. My '47 had a Delco pump that made a lot of noise, but didn't pump fuel at all. We have often recommended the Airtex pump from C&G. It is small, has an outboard check valve, and comes complete with mount and fittings. Part# 11A-9350.
