Don't forget to drain the tank first.

If the chassis is near what Ford used, it can be removed without removing the bed. First disconnect the battery. Then open the fuel sender opening in the bed and unattach the sender wire. You will have to remove the filler neck -- a spanner wrench is needed for that. You will also have to remove the fuel line from the tank. Next, if original, you will have 2 bolts on one side and a single bolt on the other. Cut the safety wire and remove the bolts. You should now be able to slide the tank to one side and in doing so, the other side should be free of the frame and drop down. Thats the simple explanation.

My 36 ford pickup is mounted on a TCI chassis. The tank is mounted on the top side of the frame rails. Is it possible to remove the tank from the bottom without removing the pickup bed? If possible please outline the procedure for me. Thank You, Brent
