Michael at Third Gen Auto has the hardware and maybe the rods. OR Fred at Southside Obsolete. They both have web pages. The rods do aid in preventing clutch chatter and are important. The head of the bolt on the frame has a square drive if an impact will not remove it heat may be necessary.

You will get arguments both ways as to how well the antichatter rods worked. However for what ever reasons Henry stopped installing them around 1940. My 42 has the replacement. Sometimes called the "slingshot". This was a device with a yoke that bolted to the sides of the bell housing and then had an adjustable rod with a hook that went back to the center cross member in the frame. Probably was sold by Western Auto. Doesn't stop the chatter either. The holes are there in the bell housing and the front cross member even if Henry never installed the rods.

If they didn't work, surely ol' Henry would not have installed them.

Does anyone know where I might find a pair of clutch anti-chatter rods for a 1935 Ford pickup? (I'm restoring the truck back to original and would like to 'make it right'. ) On my truck, one rod is solid as a rock, but the bolt will not budge even with a big air impact gun. The other rod is flopping all over the place, but again, the bolt will not budge even with a big air impact gun. I realize that the popular opinion is "they don't work", so if I can't find replacements, I may just have to leave them as-is. Thanks for your time.
