Before taking the time needed to cleanup brake drums from my 41 coupe, was looking for a spec on minimum thickness of brake drum? Looks to have been turned a couple times - appreciate some info on this spec.

I have always heard 12.060" in diameter is the max (unless otherwise printed of the drum). Check with your local brake shop as sometimes there are laws or at least standard practices that they follow. Start looking for a shop early as there is a special tool required that only a few shops have. I heard of one shop that removed the drum from the hub (using a big hammer) in order to turn it. They returned the parts to the owner and expected him to pay for their ruining the hub/drum. Even if they hadn't ruined the parts the person would still have to find place to reinstall the drums. Find a shop that has done it before. Maybe ask at you local V8 Club. Put your general location in your profile and maybe someone will recommend a local shop.

The gradual evaporation of usable period brake drums and +0.20 to + 0.30 V8 connecting rod bearings, to name but two of the more obvious ones, will slowly, but surely, desiccate this hobby.
