Om my 35 I left the inoperative switch in place and connected the dash lights to a togel switch under the dash. But my car is a driver and do not show it.

The irony of it is that the dash light switch does very little. It allows you to turn off your dash lights when your parking/head lights are on. Who would normally want to drive at night with your dash lights off?? The lights aren't so bright that they distract you from seeing the road at night. Unless your are a purest(which I am) a simple jumper on the back of the switch will allow your dash lights to be on any time your head lights are on and visa versa.

Some people seem to think that the parts are made of gold. I had a response to my ad for the right side cowl molding on my Mercury (stainless trim about 3.5" x .6") in average condition with small dents. Price was only $150 (about 3x what I would pay for the part in that condition) but shipping was $50 from Colorado to IL. The seller did not have photos and was insulted when I told him that he obviously loved the part more than I did. I was ready to guess that his price was set to pay his legal pot bill.
