VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)

On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

Get the radiator fixed, new hoses and t/stats. With the rad out, close off the water pump's, fill with EvapoRust and let sit for a while, flush and reverse flush several times. You may find you DON'T need a pusher or puller fan. FWIW
Paul in CT Vinegar can be substituted for the E/Rust but needs to be neutralized.

I have a '39 ? that has an electric fan that is incorporated into a shroud that covers most of the core... The engine has AC, radiator is an aluminum aftermarket.. The system works great, never overheats, well that is above the 195 temp of the thermostat.
We are in the process of putting a '37 Chevy together using a 292 CID 6 cyln. We are going with the same system that the '39 has which is a 19" x 25" Summit aluminum racing radiator.. $198. + shipping..

Zero, I was using a line of thought on the whole "pusher"/ "puller" definition from a visualization of a pusher aircraft, where the prop is at the rear, pushing the aircraft. Your way makes sense also, one near the engine is pulling air through the radiator. I would like to mount the fan without those ties through the core. I asked the radiator guy about the warranty, he said one year. I said with the wire tie downs through the radiator? No warranty.

srg,

I was under the impression that pusher fans were to be mounted on the outside of the radiator pushing the air thru. Puller fans mount on the engine side of the radiator pulling air thru the radiator. I have a puller fan that I'm mounting on my stock 37 radiator and I was going to use the steel rods. I may need to rethink my mounting method.

You might want to contact Randy Rundle of Fifth Avenue Antique Auto Parts for a fan that will mount to your radiator with brackets that bolt to the steel framework that surrounds the core. I have purchased a puller fan from him that mounts on the engine side of the radiator. It is mounted on a stock 1937 Ford V8-60 radiator. This radiator will be going into a small hot rod that has the engine mounted further back so clearance between the fan and the front of the engine will not be an issue. My radiator needs fixin'. The car is 12 volt, Offenhauser manifold, twin Stromberg carbs. It has an alternator. It has a pusher fan installed on the engine side with those wires that go through the radiator. The clearance between the fan motor and the belt?
3/8 of an inch. Whew! I'm dealing with a semi-custom set up here. The man in town can re-core my original radiator (1200.00), but no warranty with those wires holding the fan on through the radiator. I don't blame him, he said he's fixed a lot of radiator tubes rubbed through with those wires. Getting another fan is shooting in the dark, the original radiator doesn't have any side steel to bolt a fan onto. I got 3/8 of an inch clearance, don't want to use the funky wires through the radiator set up. What to do? What about the Walker radiators? They say they bolt right in to a 37, and they have side steel strips on the to bolt a fan to, but do they work? They say it bolts right in with a stock set up, but I have a 59AB engine. Any input is appreciated.
