My 39 came 80% restored, but with many parts not yet installed. I re-chromed the channels that attach to the top and windshield that hold the rubber that the stainless window frames rest against. Was there any type of seal between the channel and the top irons and windshield pillar?

Look in Bob Drake catalog for the rubber strips that fit in the U shaped channels. 18-45983 he has a kit with 5 pieces 18-45983-K

Who re-plated those channels? All the channels I'd ever worked with were stainless.

Kube, thanks for your help. I enjoy seeing your work as you post it on the Ford Barn. The channels are not stainless. The were rusty and kind of pitted and required re-chroming. Believe me, if they were stainless I would not have paid to have them chromed. My 39 Merc. Convert has the same type of channels, my 40 convert. and 39 convert. sedan have stainless channels. If you like, I can post a picture of the unrestored channels on the Merc.
