Fordfan, Here is a picture that describes the wiring to a 36 combination oil/fuel gauge.

The gauges get power by the same wire to the ignition switch, which would be a black/green wire if the colors are visible. The wire from oil pressure gauge to the sender on the engine is black/yellow. The fuel gauge wire to the sender is a yellow wire.

I have a combination oil fuel gauge for my 35 standard. Oil gauge hook ups, power to the top terminal sending unit to the bottom terminals or-?
