Not sure these will help. This is the arrangement for my 1939 Deluxe.

The brake pedal spring in my '47 hooks between the pedal and to a small hole in the crossmember in front of the master cylinder. The hole can be hard to locate, as it is usually covered with rust, dirt, etc.

Tom, The 42 - 48 return spring was in fact attached to a very small bracket. I wish I could access my photos...

On some of the Fords the brake return spring was attached to a hole in the bottom of the firewall

For some reason I can't access my photos. As I recall it is fastened to the very farthest back oil pan bolt on the left side. Or was it a nearby bolt transmission to engine block? The bracket you refer to is not fancy by any stretch of the imagination. Not much more than a piece of sheet metal perhaps '032 thick with a hole for the bolt and a much smaller hole for the spring end. Hopefully the advisor will chime in here for you...

Does anyone have a picture where the spring hooks up. I know where it goes on the brake pedal pin but there is a bracket that mounts to one of the oil pan bolts. I don't know exactly what it looks like. Thanks in advance for the responses.
