The front door window regulators on your car are not identical for both sides. They make look alike, but will only fit the intended side. When in place, the arms will connect as expected. I found this out when I restored my '47 convertible. I found that someone, at some time, had adapted a closed car regulator for the right side window. The convertible regulators are special to the model, and require nine turns to raise and lower the heavy metal framed windows. I found one in a salvage yard in another state. It was in bad shape and required extensive repair, but I was happy just to find such a rare part. Restoring a convertible is a real challenge. Many parts are unique to that car, hard to find, and expensive if you do.
