I have installed an aftermarket turn signal control on my '34 Cabriolet which I like but there is no self cancellation function. As a result I, as often as not, leave the turn signals flashing away as I continue going straight down the road. I hate that - its such an old person thing to do and I'm an old person trying not to show it. Anyway, I'm looking for a source of a 6 volt positive ground buzzer, or better yet a clicker that I can wire into the circuit to remind me to cancel the flashers. Thanks, Bill Brown

The 'clicker' (flasher) as you call it does exist in a 6-volt version. Or, you could just hook a small 6-volt lamp that would light. Come to think of it, how is your turn signals working if they dont have the flasher? Every turn signal system that I have ever saw has had the flasher that makes noise as it caused the lights to blink. Google turn signal flashers and I am sure that you can find one that blinks and clinks.........................

carguy I recently installed a buzzer in my '46 Super Deluxe, as I am an old guy with some hearing loss, and can't hear that little click that the flasher unit makes. I posted it on the Ford Barn, and here is the link to the post. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=266267&highlight=buzzer

thanks for the information. I just ordered a couple so I can have a spare. It used to be nice back in the day when there was a Radio Shack in every small town.

I installed turn signals on my '40. The lights on the signal switch worked, but if the sun shone on them I couldn't see them. I went to Mac's?, or one of the other major parts dealers, and got a flasher that beeps audibly. It was a little expensive, about $34, but you can hear the beep REAL GOOD!!! Check around, they are available!! I thought the price for safety was worth it!! Regards, Steve Lee

carguy Another option I$$ this: http://www.turnswitch.com/Turnsignal.htm I could not hear my flasher (47 sedan) when it was not attached to anything. Just hanging by the wires. I mounted the flasher to a piece of sheet metal that attached to dash and I could hear it much better. I will assume that how and where the flasher is mounted will affect the loudness of the flasher - Bob
