I have always been facinated by the Meteor (Ford) and Monarch (Mercury) series. Several years ago I found an owner of an original 1949 Meteor Fordor at Minnesota's Back to the 50's event. I asked if I could take some pictures to compare it to my original 1949 Ford Custom Fordor. Very interesting differences. I did an article in the Club's magazine with pictures of the differences. Nice car by the way -- have fun with it.

What is it's wheelbase? I notice trim along the tops of the front fenders. Also the sort of rolled up where the front of hood meets the grille. In the era when I was looking Meteors were the Ford type and Monarchs the Mercury. If this has the 5 or 6 inch longer front end of a Mercury shouldn't this be in the Mercury forum. Don't get me going on Mercury trucks.
