I have been told that a bearing kit was available to replace the bushing in the upper steering column bushing, but have not been able to find any info on where to get this. Help

Bearings are pretty much standard and metric. Yup! maybe that report that a 1941 Ford had a 3.5L V-6 is now true! Go look! Shielded or not shielded and more or less balls per orbit is all I ever puzzled over. 25.4 mm/inch now do I have that meme right? Replacing a bushing with a bearing would bring up issues of what retains it since it has no snap ring grooves (the bushing) and how accurate is it's bore since it won't be sized by a reamer. The availability of a kit would allow in folks who make claims about NC machining which I have gotten burned on as it precludes completely selective fit and sizing substituting a surface smoothness as a demonstration of quality.

Dan Brusegard has (or had) them. Tel.# 763-533-9879 or dancb@comcast.net

Another vote for Dan's bearing kit. He told me about three weeks ago that he was just starting a new run of them and will have them available very soon. Here is a picture of Dan's bearing on left compared to an original bushing. Ken

Mine came in a kit from C&G containing a bearing, spring and replacement bushing. It is B-3517-K, $26.50. Order at 800/266-0470.

Bob, I'm using the same kit as you are using. It's actually a later Ford OEM style kit and works great.
