Problem recently appeared wherein front parking lights do not come on, but rear ones do. Turn signals operate at all four lights, indicating bulbs (and ground?) in front lights are good. Schematic shows black and yellow circuit wire begins at stop light switch, far rear driver's side connection. Goes to driver's side parking light, continuing and ending over at passengers side light. Grounded both places. From same light switch connection, yellow/black wire goes to and powers ignition switch lamp where it is also grounded. Discovered that lamp earlier this year, and that it had fallen out of it's socket. Put it back, but apparently it is out again as I see no obvious light for the ignition switch. . Would failure of ground at this location be the problem for my front parking lights? Also, what is the purpose of the small round white light at the bottom of the speedo.? I have a stock '46 as well, with the exception that the previous owner had installed signal lights. What you are describing is a bit confusing, unless you are referring to the wiring that was installed for the signals. Page 76 of the service manual has the electrical schematic for 1946-47-48, and the wire colors that you describe don't seem to match. The wire to the stop lights is listed as green from the lighting circuit breaker to the stop switch, then to the driver's rear then passengers rear. My front parking lights only have one filament as per stock. They are now the front signals and not park lights due to the wiring for signals by the previous owner. I'd like to install dual filament sockets so the car would have park and signals on the front. Not sure about the ignition switch lamp, as mine does not have one. The small light at the bottom of the speedometer is the high beam indicator, which is fed from the high side of the hi/low switch on the floor by a green/white wire. Attached is the wiring diagram that matches the turn signal installation on my car. TomO 11-21-2018 @ 7:43 AM reply profile send p.m. Senior Posts: 7256 Joined: Oct 2009 Bill, do you have voltage at the wire that goes to the parking lights? Check it at the connector by the radiator. The yellow and black wire comes from the light switch to a connector at the firewall and then goes to the connector by the radiator, then onto the light sockets. It is most likely that one of the connectors has come loose. The ignition switch light should not affect the parking lights. If it has fallen out again, increase the tension on the springs around the socket. The speedometer should have 2 lights. One is fed with a black wire and is used to light the speedometer. The other is fed with a green with whte tracer wire and it is the hi-lo beam indicator. The one with the green/white wire should be visible from the operator's view. Also, I've looked in my owners manual and there is no mention of said light. Was this an option, or something that an owner would install on their own? Look for a hole in the bottom of the dash just over the key. I don't know if it was standard or an option. Check with the 46-48 Adviser.
