How hard should it be to hand crank this engine with the plugs out? I have the pan off and I am replacing the starter after it broke during a faulty start (weak battery). I put a wrench on the front pulley nut on the crank and it took 50 ft. lbs. to turn the crank. Is that normal? How easy/hard should it be. Many thanks. Peter

Thats a good question. Not being funny but my son can whip crank our Model T = I can not, depends how old them bones are. Is this a fresh engine? 50 ft lbs is about torque for a head bolt, seems a little stiff to me....If it spins fine even with 6vt starter I wouldn't worry bout it..sam
