I am restoring the interior of my 1939 ford truck, I noticed the rear window garnish piece has a space in it that looks like a place for a rubber gasket. Can someone help me with any info on this? I bought the window gasket from bob drake and they dont show any other rubber in the rear window. thanks

Just a guess here, but that gasket from Drakes may have a thin side and a thicker side. Seems like the thick side went to the inside of the cab, which may fill the gap you are seeing. A photo may help if you can post one.

For my 38 PU I used the B-704220 Rear Window Seal from Bob Drakes. The cross section of the seal is "U" shaped and fit around the perimeter of the glass. Then the glass w/seal was placed in the opening and the garnish installed. Fit well. Yours may be different, but I would think 38 and 39 would be the same.
