Hi, I'm new to the club and wondering if someone can tell me what the original primer color is on a 39. I'm looking at a car that shows light grey through the paint and I'm wondering if that's original or a re-paint. I was told the original primer was only red oxide. Thanks!

Thanks Mike. Was worried that was the case. So all primer in 39 was red?

Red oxide is all I have ever seen when the original paint is polished so much it goes through to to the primer.
