Hello fellow V-8ers: The other day I was jacking up the front end of my 40'. I thought I had the jack under the middle of the axle. However, upon closer examination, I found I had it in the middle of the drag link instead[love those bi-focals]. Anyway I bent the drag link several inches. I took it off the car and slowly straightened it out with a floor jack. I didn't use any heat and bent VERY slow. I examined it and found it to be visibly O.K. The paint never even cracked. Have I comprimised the integrity of the part? I would like some opinions. It was a N.O.S. drag link. Thanks in advance for the input.

Unless you see visible cracks or other damage at the ends, simply straighten out the drag link and reinstall it. Unlike the tie rod, it won't affect alignment. If the tie rod is bent, toe-in will have to be reset. More than one of us has had that happen.
