Grant, They both where filled from the center rear but as Ken said, different capacity. I doubt the Merc tank would fit but it is possible. Don

The Mercury tank also has the filler pipe as part of the tank and the Ford filler pipe looks like it is a separate part in the chassis parts catalog. The mounting straps also have different P/N, so it is unlikely that you could do a swap without some modifications. The photo looks like a Mercury tank. Tom

Grant, I don't think so. The Ford fuel tank capacity was 17 gallons, the Mercury was 19 gallons. Ken

Does anyone know if Ford and Mercury passenger cars had the same gas tanks in 1952 and 1953?
