There is a 3M product available called Black Super Weatherstrip And Gasket Adhesive. It is available from MAC'S under Part No. 64-52344. Other vendors may also offer it. It is highly toxic so take appropriate measures when applying it. This adhesive is used to secure the door seals.

Removed the original cowl vent gasket this morn and after a couple of hours with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, a plastic Eastwood scr*per and a dozen or so paper towels and have the seal well squeaky clean and ready for install of the new seal (when it arrives). Question - given the velocity of wind over the cowl vent gasket area coupled with no other feature holding the seal in place when the vent is open (like a window for example), will the same sealant used to seal the windshield and rear window (seals) in place be the best choice for installing the vent seal? If not, what are your recommendations? Thanks - Steve
