Hello, I just purchased a 37 Fordor. The floors need replacing. I cannot figure out how to remove the side scuff plates. I hope to reuse them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Gregg

Gregg, It has been several years since I removed the scuff plates on my car, but there should be a screw at the front and the back of the scuff plate and there are tabs along the bottom edge of the plate that are bent over the rocker panel. The tabs may be difficult to get to with the running boards installed. Jim

As I recall on a '37 there is a screw at the front of the plate and at the back there is carriage bolt that goes through the rocker panel to secure it. I think the nut for the carriage bolt is between the rocker and the frame.

Thanks Guys, This gives me a place to start poking at. I didn't want to keep prying around the edges and eventually ruin them. Gregg
