When I first joined the Early V8 Club in 1971 one of the first things I did was send for the club grill plaque which I still have on my car. Over the years I have heard of an earlier plaque than mine that the club offered and also noticed newer looking ones. My question is how many different type or generations were made and are some more valuable than others. I just saw one sell on Ebay that had an aluminum looking bracket that the plaque was seated in that I never saw before. Are there any V8 Times articles on this? Thank You.

The aluminum mounting bracket was made by long time member Jon Scobel for RG-32 many years ago, and the club has long ago sold out of the brackets. If you find one for sale, buy it quick!

There is an early cast one piece plaque and mounting bracket 4" Dia. Only two I am aware of for the national club. There have been others for regional groups.

Is the one you show in the picture the cast aluminum one that the V8 Club first offered, say pre 1970?

I believe the one shown in the photo is pre 1970. I have one just like it and got it from a long time club member.

I joined the EFV-8 Club in about 1968, maybe '69. I purchased a club grille plaque when I joined the club, putting the plaque on the left side of the grille, it has not been moved from the original location since.. The plaque appears to be "cloisonne/enamel" with silver (bright metal) dividers and perimeter band. I could not put the grille plaque on the right side of the grille because I have a "Deutschland" (Germany) grille plaque there. I purchased the Germany plaque for my '50 Opel in 1956 when I was in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Bill 36 5 win delx cpe

I thought that I had a pix of my grille plaque, it took me awhile to find it in my photo album.. Bill 36 5 win delx cpe Reviewing the pix of the grille plaque I posted yesterday, I just noted that the EFV-8 plaque and the original "Ford" hood ornament are identical in color and style..:)
