Alan was a great guy who dedicated a lot of hours to being the 39-40 advisor for the V-8 Times. He also volunteered at meets to be a judge. His last accomplishment was seeing the Gilmore gasoline book , that he and Charlie Seims authored, go to print. A fabulous book giving the history of the Gilmore company. We will miss him sitting with us at the Portland Swap Meet telling great V-8 stories and selling his Gilmore book. Happy Trails Alan. You left your mark in the world of old Ford V-8's. Our long-time friend, V-8 Club member and '39-'40 advisor Alan Darr passed away yesterday, Friday December 23, 2016 at his home in Longview, WA. A little over a year ago he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Despite multiple rounds of chemo therapy and radiation treatments he was unable to beat the disease. Condolences may be sent to his wife, Margaret Darr at 124 E. Canyon View Drive, Longview, WA 98632. He will be greatly missed.
