Are the offshore parts that are being sold here, especially brake and clutch parts required to meet DOT or any other U S standards ? Personally, I doubt it.

I just replaced the front brake hoses on my 53 Lincoln with Bendix hoses that were made in China and they have the DOT approval number on them. If the parts are from a major supplier like Bendix, Dorman, Wagner, they should meet DOT standards and have the DOT number on the box or the part.

One can only hope that the parts being offered are really DOT approved. I wouldn't put it past the Chinese to mark the parts without approval. Look at the drywall and flooring that was making people ill that had all the "correct" labeling.

The Chinese have historically dumped their asbestos and lead into products shipped here, whether it was flooring, drywall, paint or toys. They make forged designer clothing, Why not anything else.
