thanks all , the truck is on the water and will be due to arrive in wet and cold england around march 20 ....exciting stuff , thanks , jim.

Although the cabs were essentially the same, the larger trucks use bigger fenders, hoods and grilles.

I have seen some '51 F-1s with F-3 or higher fenders, especially on the front, which can alter the looks. Seems they couldn't find metal F-1 fenders which are hard to find. Hope yours has the metal.

The cabs are all the same on all of the Ford trucks from 1948 to 1952 except for the dash board and rear window which were changed with the 1951 model.

h*llo i,m shipping a 51 ford fi to the u.k from usa,many years ago i did the same thing with a 49 f1 from florida which has long moved on ,i,v looked at various pictures of both from different angles and the 49 seems to have a different stance to the 51...the cab looks taller on the 49 and seems to have a better (in my opinion)look ,is it just the angle the photos were taken or have they got different measurements ...just curious if any one can help ,, many thanks ..jim.
