Armrests were offered in the in the "deluxe cab" models. In those trucks, the fiber door trim panel was marked and drilled for the two armrest mounting screws. I assume that doors without the trim panel would mount the armrests with long sheet metal screws directly on the door. The photos in my shop manual show the armrest mounted just behind the door latch handle with the front screw in line with the handle, and with the rear screw slightly lower that the front one. If this doesn't make sense, I can scan the photos for you.

by door panels, do you mean the metal panel that covers all the internal workings? Other than that, I have no panels. Thanks. Peter

Do you have the door panels? Generally the door panels have a mark on the back to show where the arm rests should mount.

I just bought arm rests for my 51 ford pickup. Not sure exactly where on the door they go. Is there a specific place? Thanks. Peter
