Hello all. New member here. We are having the truck my grandfather bought new here on our farm restored now. 53 F 500. Flat head V8. Can someone please confirm that the correct color to paint this engine is green? And, does anyone have a paint code/color sample available so we get as close to original as possible with the engine color? I am pretty sure the 52 and 53 truck engines were painted green, not the tangerine orange that the cars had. I look forward to being a member of this group!

Welcome! Green is the correct color for your truck engine. Here is a link to Vanpelt Sales where you'll find all the general info you need to know about your truck. Good luck with the Ford. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_specs-90to125late.htm Ken

If you are a Early Ford V-8 Club national member you can check the V-8 Times magazine for an ad by Bill Hirsch. He sells the correct engine paint for your truck. If you are not a national member please consider joining. The V-8 Times magazine is worth the price of admission and you will have advisors there to add to your knowledge and answer your question also. You can join the national club on the front page of this site. Welcome to the website.
