Can anyone help me learn all I can from my truck s/n? It is bb183062278. Truck has 131.5 wheelbase and a flat bed with stake pockets. Also would like to know difference between platform bed and stake bed. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks Tom. Looks like a late production '36. Do you know anything about how to tell the difference between the platform bed and the stake bed?

Check with James Wagner who is the tech advisor for big trucks in the V-8 Times. You might also call Butch Kent in Washington state who is very knowledgeable about the bigger trucks. He's listed in the V-8 Club roster. Either one would know about the terminology for the beds. I suspect the platform bed is more commonly known as the "flatbed" The stake side would have the flat bed but have the pockets for the stake sides

Thanks for the tips. I will follow up with these guys. I also ordered a copy of "Ford trucks since 1905" by James Wagner. That should have a few more answers. Good winter reading!
