Can anyone comment if a 1953 Holley Carb which has been rebuilt to std spec will interchange with a 1951 Holley Carb on a stock 8 CM engine ? Thanks. Tracker

It will phisikly bolt patern will match up but not sure of the rest of the hook ups. There are 2 diff 51 carbs. One has a divorced choke down on the manifold and another with the choke on the carb.Late and early respectively. Inrake slightly diff between the 2 also. ken ct.

The air horn on a 1951 carburetor is different than the 1953 carburetor, so you cannot use the 53 carburetor with the 51 air cleaner. There may be other differences that may effect performance.

Ken Thanks for your information on the 53...you were right on all counts...it will physically bolt up but thats about where it stops. Just another bad idea on my part thinking since they look alike they are alike. Not really so I'm moving to either buy a NOS Holley if I can locate one or go the pro builder route.
