I am wondering if the license plate glass is shared by both Ford and Mercury, 1946-48? Someone has a glass for sale, but is not sure whether it fits Mercury? Thanks, Peder

The license light glass (P/N 99A-13564) is shared with all Ford and Mercury cars from 1940-1948. The reproductions sell for less than $8. The cork gasket is also available from most vendors.

You are welcome, Peder. How is your restoration coming? Do you have any photos?

Restoration coming together! Have overhauled engine, transmission, complete new wiring front to rear, brakes, clutch, front end, interior, done some replating and straightened out some fender trim. Have had a lot of valuable help from a "wizzard" with these cars here in Norway. A one owner car from Minnesota. The body and paint are original, and I intend to preserve the "patina" as much as possible. This car "lives" once again, and I have driven it a few times this Spring, now with the original pressure plate and disc refurbished and a recently lathed flywheel! There is no longer any shake or chatter!!! Be talkin', and thanks for all your help as well as from Supereal!!!(hope I haven't forgotten anyone?)...Peder
