It has occurred to me that a member of this forum might know the history of my beautiful maroon '41 Mercury coupe. Two owners back was William Dunn of Marion Ohio, when he passed his widow gave the car to her husband's lifelong friend, also of Marion. I am not sure the car was driven much if any after that. It spent some time stored in a barn. My wife bid on the Merc at the friend's auction about three weeks ago. and got it. Thanks Joan. The friend was Rex Shaffer, who I have written to with no response. It would be a great help to me if I could learn more of the restoration history. TomE

I received a response from the farmer we bought the '41 from today, his knowledge of the car is next to none, says he drove it down the driveway a couple of times, He stated that the widow he got the car from passed away many years ago, so no help there either. TomE

Check the V-8 Club Roster and look for club members who live in Marion or close to Marion.. I'll bet someone knows that car. Also make a post on the Fordbarn in the early V-8 section regarding the car.

I'll check the roster, or try! I can't believe how many members there are. I may have done a posting on the Ford Barn, I'll check there as well. Just looked for the roster, can't find it! I think I have seen it previously... Tom
