Can anyone confirm if this is a '40 Mercury clock? I want to verify before placing it up for sale. Thanks, Carcheologist

No, this is not for a 1940 Mercury. According to an illustration in a 1940 Mercury brochure, the correct clock has a blue rectangle on the face, dots to indicate the missing numerals and a smooth bezel.

TomO, Thanks for your response. I'm glad to know for sure what it was for. Someone told me it was for a '40 Merc, but I wanted to consult with the experts before drawing any conclusions. I'm planning to offer it for sale at Pate Swap Meet this year and didn't want to misrepresent it.

Could be a nice classic looking piece if it was cleaned up a little
