The boards are attached beneath the front seat - perhaps 6" or so from the rear edge. Here's a photo of a pair and the correct bolts. What you can't see in the photo is the bracket on the opposite side of each board. That's why I've placed one (separate) in the photo. All convertibles and business coupes had these beneath the front seat. Mike Kubarth

I have taken both the front and rear seats out. Where are these divider boards located? Do you have a photo? Thanks.

Hemmed? Man, you are as crazy as I am! No, not hemmed. Even I have to remember now and then, these were cheap cars, put together in a hurry on a mass scale back in 1940. I'm proud of ya Mike By the way, do you have the wooden divider boards beneath the seat?

Thanks Mike, I appreciate all your help getting this car prepared. One more question, should the edges of the cloth be hemmed. or just cut.

The pads can be made out of white duck cloth. Yes, duck cloth. It is available at any decent fabric store. They are about 1 1/2" x 2 1/2". A 1/2" diameter hole in the center will "do it". I doubt there was a specified direction the pads were to be installed. rather, I am willing to bet heavily they were simply meant to be installed and quickly. I place them lengthwise (mirror the "foot") in my restorations. By the way, it is encouraging to get an inquiry from a person that actually cares enough to "do it right". Guys like you are seemingly becoming fewer and farther between. Thank you Mike Kubarth

The anti-squeak pads under the seat feet on my 1940 convertible are missing. I understand they are made of canvas cloth. Does anyone have a photo showing these pads and how they are positioned? Also, what color are they?
