I bought this regulator for a forty convertible off ebay.. it is too short . Have you ever seen one like this. It falls off the track when it is raised. Any ideas.

The upper arm should be 12 1/2" measured from the center of the rivet at the recoil spring to the center of the rivet at the opposite end. What do you measure? What is the overall width of the body? It should be 10 3/32".

Kubes I measure 11" for the arm,, and the base is 10 3/16 ,,so iguess the arm is to short. Ifyou look at the picture the gear is copper colored which i thought was weird .

The regulator appears to be from a '40 MERCURY convertible sedan. The copper "color" was nothing more than a plating... not to worry. I think this regulator will work if you lengthen the arms to the measurement I gave you earlier. Mike
