Mike, thanks very much for your reply , very helpful. I am new to these computers, to old I guest . I sent the reply in the wrong box. I had already stain my floor boards, wanted to be sure I was right. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Brooks, I paint the horn button to match. The most difficult part of that process in my opinion is repainting the "DeLuxe". Still, I believe the painted button looks so much better than the repop. Factory photos indicate that the button was not quite the same color as the dash but much closer a match than the current repops. The floor boards were originally dipped in a mixture of old paints and / or oils leaving them a shade of black. Typically fairly dark and dull. I use two coats of MiniWax Ebony stain. Hope this helps... Mike Kubarth

Hi Mike, I want to know if you paint the horn button the same color as the dash or leave it like it come from Drake's? Also is the wood floor boards painted black or stained? I have got old since the last time I restored a 40. Thanks very much, Brooks
