The seat tracks are interchangeable amongst all '40 Ford passenger cars. Are they all the same? Well, no. In 1939 there was a design change to the tracks. This change carried over in to 1940 production. One would most likely assume that meant all 1940 models would have been fitted with this design. In reality many '40 Ford cars were fitted with the '38 style track design. Most often it appears it was the club convertible that were fitted with the '38 design.

The adjustment handles are all the same in 1940 regardless of whether it's the "old" (38) style tracks or the later 39 - 40 style tracks.
