This font change occurred in about 1931 and is shown in the service bulletins of that period. It is probably repeated later in the service bulletins if you look. I would assume it is shown in the clubs restoration book. Go to the DMV armed with documentation. Charlie Stephens

thank you that is the missing number on the registration,, now to try and straighten this out with the reg. of m.v. in mass.

Yes, the #1 looks like the letter I in 1940.
