what is the easist way to install a fuel pump on a 40 engine should i remove the fuel pump stand and then install the pump to it first

No. Jog your engine to get the cam on the lift stroke and fish the lifter with the pump arm. Get your bolts started and confirm you’re still on the lifter, tighten away and start your engine.

Just changing the pump, then after removing the fuel lines, loosen the two attachment bolts at the oil fill tube and lift the pump upward and then out. If it still will not come off the fuel pump operating rod, turn the engine over with the starter motor until the operating rod is lower and then lift the pump up and out.

thanks for your help i took the fuel pump stand off with the pump i wanted to check the pushrod and add grease to both ends put pump back on stand then installed on engine went well
|
