Trying to replace vent window seal. The garnish molding is out of the car, I have installed the seal the Vent window is not moving far enough forward to install rivets in pivot point. Looking for help to resolve the problem.

A couple of photos would help to diagnose the problem.

Only the washer that stops the travel. I have the upper pivot point into the rubber and the rubber is not in the channel. Cut the rubber to get the upper pivot into the channel. The rivet hole is half an inch from the hole.

The first two photos I can knock move the window any further and I’m still about a half an inch off. The third photo I used wire to pull the upper pivot closer to the holes. No I need to try to move the upper pivot closer to the window frame. I’m closer but still not enough. Ideas?
