Hi All I have a '40 Fordor standard. I don't seem to be able to find an original routing for the wire that connects the license plate light to the taillight. I know the routing in the trunk, but where does the wire go through the trunk cavity to the left, inner fender area of the taillight? Of course, I can simply drill a small hole, but would rather not. Thank you. Happy 4th, Barney

Barney, there should already be a hole in the floor of the luggage compartment. Typically it is very near the body mount "plate". The wire comes up through that hole and travels behind the left cardboard liner. It comes out near the left hinge where it is connected the wire that is fastened to the inner trunk lid structure.

Thanks very much, Mike. You're the best. I'll give it a gander tomorrow. It's almost my bedtime now. Thanks. Barney

The hole may be covered by some very old clay used to seal it.
