I am looking for an opinion on who makes the better headlight rims for a 40 Ford Deluxe. I am aware of 2 reproductions, Drake and Vintique. I am interested in the quality of the casting as I can have them plated if the chrome is not up to my standards.

Vintique do not fit. I have had a couple of pair donated to me. I never used them. Drake's fit decently. Not perfect, but probably good enough for the "average Joe". I have tweaked them on occasion. The plating on Drakes has held up well through the years.

I would also go with the Drake repos. The other option is to look for a good used set of original rims and rechrome them.

Thanks guys. I will take Tom's suggestion and have some plated. I have a couple that are just pitted, not dented like the ones on my Merc after the truck backed into it on the way to Auburn.
