I'm restoring my 1950 F-1 and I am trying to be as original as possible. Does anyone have any information (photos of, sources for, color of) the side view mirror(s) Ford put on the F-1s when they were new?

Glenn, You may have better results obtaining a reply if you post this in the appropriate section. This one is dedicated for 1940...

It was my mistake. I realized it right after I posted it. Unfortunately, as far as I know, once something is posted it's not possible (even for the author) to edit it out. I've tried.

Glenn, Maybe post it in the appropriate spot too. Someone has to be able to answer your question. Ya just need them to see it..

Glenn--- I do not own a 1950 Ford F-1 pickup, and never have, so my apologies if my assistance is inadequate for you. I did an internet search - "1950 Ford F-1 pickup" and came up with a # of websites, including photos. A number of the trucks depicted in them have been hot-rodded, and don't appear to have the correct, original stuff on them. But the pictures that I did see, show unrestored examples of 1950 Ford F-1 pickups, and the outside mirrors seem to be of a gooseneck design, chrome-plated, and attach at the cab's top door hinge. As for suppliers, check with "the usual suspects" - Bob Drake, Sacramento Vintage Ford, etc. If any one of my esteemed fellow V8 Club members, who currently own or have owned, a 1950 Ford F-1, have information that contradicts the above, I respectfully defer to their superior knowledge. Good luck with your restoration. Tom
