The worm gear presses onto the shaft. There were two shafts used in '34, one is 41.75", the other is 42". The worms were the same, 2.89". C&G has them listed in their catalog as 40-3524-A, about $70. If your shaft is usable, you can press on a new worm. Finding any NOS pieces for '34 is probably a dead end.
