Does a 1932 car with a four cylinder engine have the vin number stamped on the side of the block. If there is no number does that most likely mean it is a warranty block.

There was no number stamped on the block but the pad was still there. The engine/transmission number was stamped into the flywheel housing. Some local jurisdictions may have required the number be stamped into the block but it was not from Ford. Charlie Stephens

There's a raised rectangle on top of the flywheel housing where the engine number was stamped. That was the practice on Canadian and U.S. produced '32-'34 fours. I am not sure whether U.K.-produced fours followed the same practice.

I have since confirmed that the U.K.-produced '32 four-cylinder engine blocks were numbered on the left side like its Model A predecessors.

I've found a 32 car that has the vin number not only stamped on the frame but on the block. And the block number fonts look original, not dealer made. As far as I can research it is an american car.

If it is a low engine number, it could have been done before the change in location, although I've not heard of others so stamped. Alternatively, it might have been replaced under warranty in a state that did not require renumbering of replacement blocks.
