The old amp gauge on the dash is toast. Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement gauge? We want to keep it as original as possible.

All of the replacement gauges I have seen are larger and, in my opinion, it looks terrible when you try to enlarge the hole even a little bit. My advice would be to have yours repaired or find a used one. If your gauge died from too many amps going through it because you are running a later generator or alternator run a jumper wire across the two terminals on the back of the gauge to get part of the load off of it. Working '32 (plus '33 truck) ammeters show up on eBay on a regular basis. They are not difficult to find, unlike some other '32 parts.

Please correct me if I am wrong on this but the truck '33-'34 ammeters were different from the '32 passenger (and truck) in that they had a loop of wire at the back of the ammeter where the '32 had wires connected to the two terminals on the back of the ammeter. Charlie, Only late '33 and '34 ammeters had the loop rather than the studs hence most '33 truck ammeters were carryover '32 parts.
