Hello everyone, I have a 32 Ford Standard Fordor, I need a new Horn rod and wondering what my best options are. The current one looks to be of rolled steel construction with a weld locking the seam together. It's 43 inches, long from clip to base of ring. No idea if its original but we've owned the car since 1988 and never replaced it.

Any chance yours is repairable? What is wrong with it? If that fails I would start calling the various suppliers. I wouldn't expect it to be cheap or easy to find.

I believe that Mac's offers a reproduction or at least they used to offer one. It isn't perfect in terms of the details, but it does do the job.

Note that you will have to drop the steering column to lower its angle in order to install the new rod without bending it. If you bend it, the likely result will be noisy steering and the distinct possibility that your lights will go on every time you turn a corner.
